I love food. WHO DOESN’T! But when I was working as an Occupational Therapist, focused on healing others, I was in pain, suffering from food intolerance and digestive issues. It was a result from many things: stress, being overworked, and juggling just too many things at once.
I know all of us have experienced pain at some point in our lives. For some, it’s an occasional headache, for others it’s a part of life. But first, most people aren’t aware that popping a pill can be harmful. According to the Mayo Clinic, prescription pain killers can be addictive and toxic. As a result, they are responsible for 475,000 emergency room visits per year. The CDC reports nearly 3 out of every 4 prescription drug overdoses are caused by prescription painkillers.
And it’s not just prescription painkillers, it’s also commonly used options like Tylenol which has been linked to liver damage according to this article published in the Journal of American Medical Association.

Two of the most important tools to incorporate into natural pain relief are:

The Body Scan
Check in with your body. What messages does your body have for you? Where do you feel tension, aching, burning, soreness, aching, tingling, stiffness, or inflexibility? What patterns or circumstance do you notice that occurs when you feel this discomfort?
1. Identify the location of discomfort
2. Bring awareness to the probable cause/emotional root of the discomfort as suggested by Louise Hay’s book, “You Can Heal Your Life.” (amazon affiliate link)
3. Apply essential oils topically to support the physical and emotional body. Dilute with a carrier oil such as fractionated coconut oil as needed.
4. Implement a new thought pattern as suggested by Louise Hay. State this positive affirmation as you apply the essential oils.

Probable cause: Self-criticism and fear.

New thought pattern: “I flow easily with life.” “I am always guided in the best direction.”
Probable cause: Resistance to moving forward in life.
Suggested essential oils: Aromatouch, Deep Blue, Lemongrass, Cypress, Helichrysum
New thought pattern: “I move forward with ease and confidence.”
ALL OVER PAIN
Probable cause: Fear and lack of forgiveness of self and others

Be patient with yourself during this process.
